Lets talk hair! I’ve been rocking bangs for a while now; courtesy of Umona Hair, and loving it! I’ve thought about this hairstyle for a minute now, but was waiting for the perfect hair to do so! Then came along Umona Hair; they specialize in Virgin Human Hair. Quality is my number one priority in choosing hair, especially as I’m currently blonde at the moment – & it takes really good hair to go from black to blonde – This is exactly what happened with my hair from Umona, check out details below and a few simple steps on how I transformed the hair below…

Presentation and packaging of the hair was perfect, my closure & 3 bundles (20″) of virgin human hair was in great condition. The hair looked and felt amazing! Instantly I knew, just by feeling the texture of the hair, that transforming this hair from black to blonde would be simple and easy. There was no tangling or any signs of shedding and the weft was very very neat and secure – qualities I look out for when purchasing hair.

I first stripped/bleached the hair using Truzone’s cream peroxide (12%) and Trulites rapid blue powder bleach. Once mixed together I applied the bleach to the hair and left it in for 1-2 hours, frequently checking the progress. Once I was satisfied and reached my desired colour, I washed out the bleach and conditioned the hair using Organix Argan Oil Shampoo and conditioner. I allowed the hair to rest for a day before dying.

I used L’oreal Preference; a strawberry dark blonde and then a platinum blonde for highlights. 2 0f each! I left the dye in the hair for approximately an hour and then voila! A unique blend of blondes with platinum highlights. Umona hair took to both bleaching and dying very well. The colour of the hair stripped very easily in the first phase and took to the blonde and platinum blonde very quickly in the second phase. After washing and conditioning the hair after dying; the hair returned to its original straight texture which was lush!

Funmi Ogunja Fringe

I installed the hair myself, a pretty simple sow in using the closure as the fringe and trimming it slightly to my desired length, which is pretty long. Loving the hair and loving my new look 😉 Umona hair is manageable, which makes it fun to style and easy to control. I highly reccomend!
