As a very local East Londoner I have a slight obsession with trainers, Sneakers, kicks (whatever you want to call them lol) I love them. I love all footwear but I’m a rider for trainers. They’re comfortable, versatile, warm and usually inexpensive. Here are some celebs that feel the same and have gone as far as creating their own kicks!

1.  Michael Jordan for Nike: Air Jordan’s

Air Jordan owned by Nike AND the legendary Michael Jordan himself. Footwear was originally debuted by Michael in 1984 at the beginning of his renowned basketball career. #BO$$$TATU$

2. Kanye West for Nike: Air Yeezy’s

‘Trainers of the new school’ I think this term fits perfectly lol mainly because the sneakers themselves are relatively new (Air Yeezy I’s officially released in 2009)  Air Yeezy’s are the results of a collaboration between Rapper Kanye West and Nike.

3. Lebron James for Nike: Air Zoom’s

Seems like Nike are set on building a super-brand, once again they have joined forces with mega-baller Lebron James to create a new generation of sneaker.’The Air Zoom’ series was first launched 10 years ago in 2003 and has 9 editions so far.

4. Tyga for Reebok: Exo-fit’s

Back in the 80’s Reebok’s ‘Exo-fit’ was christened “Shoe of the hustler”. Years later the design was re-released with Tyga as the face for it’s 2012 campaign.

5. Alicia Keys for Reebok: 2013 fall collection

This collection marks Alicia’s 3rd consecutive release with Reebok *Claps slowly* She makes it look too easy. These are a re-release of her vibrant spring collection but in a more winter/autumn inspired pallet. (Funmi it’s nearly Christmas and I like the black. Just thought i’d put that out there lol!)

6. Teyana Taylor for Adidas: Harlem GLC’s

Harlem glc

Harlem born Teyana has a 2 sneaker deal with Adidas and this bad boy is the 1st of her designs released back in February of this year. Can’t wait to see what she has in mind for her next pair.

7. Lil Wayne for Supra: Spectre Collection

Skateboarding brand Supra signed a contract with Lil Wayne last December giving him the creative freedom to produce a collection called ‘Spectre’ (ghost) the collection is made up of 3 different designs in a multitude of colours. My favourite is the ‘Chimera’ (pictured above.)

8. Wiz Khalifa for Converse: Wiz Khalifa Collection

Something everybody expected but didn’t officially know. Well now you know lol, In August this year Wiz Khalifa signed a contract with Converse. Staying true to his love for hi-top chucks he hasn’t made any changes to the body of the shoe. Wiz created a collection named after himself which contains 12 different designs all created by him.

9. Eminem for Nike: Charity Series

Most don’t know this but back in 2011 Slim Shady collaborated with Nike, He designed a collection called the ‘Charity Series’ and all of the proceeds were donated to charity. Amazing did I hear you say?

10. S. Carter for Reebok: S.Carter Collection

Yes I know…It’s common knowledge that Jay-z signed a contract with Reebok in 2003 BUT did you know it was the fastest selling shoe in Reebok history? LOL I’ll say no more.

Ha! Love this post! You have practically sold every pair, except, unfortunately Alicia Keys for Reebok, do not expect these for Christmas from me, that’s all I’m saying!

    But yea..

What Michael Jordan has done with Nike is revolutionary! Kanye is a genius! Never knew Eminem had it in him and Jay Z is Jay Z *throws up ROC sign*
