Yea so I’m pretty excited about Fall! It’s almost here! Not that I did not have a blast this summer, it’s just that there are some trends and colours I can’t wait to try out! LOL! One in particular being the cape, this style of jacket has been around for centuries. But I’m in love with some of the looks I’ve been seeing lately and the twist some fashionistas have given the chic garment! Check out my compilation below…
Capes have never been this stunning! I feel like designers are experimenting a lot more, especially when it comes to the choice of fabric used and coming up with beautiful pieces like this Burberry Prorsum cape on Gabriella Wilde. Love it!
Claudia Schiffer looks like a character out of a fairy tale in her beige cape. It’s dramatic but yet so simple and sophisticated; works for casual as well as formal looks. Think the neck clasp is such a beautiful touch.
Kim Kardashain in a cape, but she gave hers an extra edge with the gloves which I love. A lot to this look but it still gives off a sleek silhouette, which I’m loving. One of my fav Kimmy K looks.
But when It comes to capes I’ve gotta give it up to Mrs Beckham. I actually gotta give it up to her when it comes to a lot of things to be honest lol! But today were talking capes! This is the twist I mentioned earlier that I’m a huge fan of, trench cape? Yes! Victoria made this look amazing! By Comme de garcons, a while a go too…
Fast forward to today and Victoria Beckham is still very fond of the cape. So much so she designed her own and featured it in her own collection. It’s gorgeous; tuxedo style cape blazer and everybody loves it! Below…
Australian model Lara Bingle loves it and looks great in it too!
Chrissy Teigen is also a fan and paired hers here with some leather pants, very chic!
Rapper and realty star Rasheeda went for a cape blazer at a premiere in Atlanta. Now I agree that the cape blazer looks adorable in a soft pink/blush and look great paired with denim shorts! Crushing on her Moschino clutch too!
So yeah I said the a soft pink serves as a great colour for a cape blazer, but without contradicting myself this look is a hot mess. I think all looks good except for the bottom half. The asymmetrical sequins skirt is too much, its very distracting from the cape blazer. A plain simpler skirt would have done the job better.
This cape blazer on Kat Graham is also a bad example of how to wear it. Way too much going on. Less is more when it comes to capes, there so one dimensional you have to be careful you don’t over do it.
