I was invited to take part in the Rock That Denim campaign! The first of its kind, a fashion initiative initiated by the StyleTrailer. It is set to break stereotypes through trends all while empowering fashion enthusiasts at the same time. You may have been told or feel that you can’t or shouldn’t rock a certain trend based on your height, weight, colour or class etc. This campaign looks at how to break stereotypes through fashion. The Rock That Denim campaign looks at the Denim On Denim trend and how it is interpreted across different cultures/fashionistas. This edition featured myself; a Nigerian Style blogger living in London and Annette (Hot Happenings), Ghanaian Fashion blogger living in London. Check out some shots from the shoot below…

When I heard that the trend was; denim on denim, I was  pleased! Denim on denim is my go to look, its trendy and practical and so easy to do!

My denim on denim look consisted of an over sized denim shirt (Forever21) Denim boyfriend jeans (River Island) and metallic pointed pumps (Topshop). We also did a mini interview where we discussed certain stereotypes that we face and how we overcome them. Mine was on the issue with height, being average height or short (5’4 lol) I may not be accustomed to certain trends (Yea right lol); I overcome this with heels, the highest and lots of them lol!

The shoot was set in the heart of London; Oxford st in the West End. My happy place lol

I opted for a very loose fitting, not just for comfort but I’ts a style i’m loving at the moment.

I did this campaign with fellow blogger, Annette from Hot Happenings (make sure you check it out)! Love her style! She went for tie dye denim and white distressed denim jeans. We both went for Camel Coats too which I loved, great minds think alike ūüėČ

I loved how we both interpreted this trend, different themes but similar approach, with the distressed denim, camel coats and heels.

Huge shout-out and Thank you to Nemi Ariweriokuma of StyleTrailer for featuring me! I love the message behind this campaign and had a lot of fun. Pleasure to be a part of.

Be sure to check out StyleTrailer for more pics and details on the campaign. And also keep a look out for this campaign online and in publications everywhere!
